White Port & Tonic: The Quintessential Spring Cocktail of Portugal
Perfectly refreshing Spring patio cocktail
This cocktail paired perfectly with our 2021 Portuguese Grand Prix menu of cod fish in brodo, salt cod fritters, and failed custard tarts. The idea for this cocktail came from a very helpful staff member of local wine shop Vine Arts, who recommended the Taylor Fladgate Fine White Port and the Canadian-owned Fever Tree Light Tonic. I prefer the light tonic as I find the taste is slightly less sweet and hey, fewer drink calories mean more tarts!
White Port & Tonic
White Port. Tonic. Garnish. That's it.
Ingredients
- 2 oz. Taylor Fladgate White Port
- 3 oz. Fever Tree Tonic Light
- Orange peel
- Mint sprig (optional)
Instructions
- Fill a wineglass with ice cubes. Add the white port and then the tonic. Garnish with a thick orange peel and mint (optional).
