McLaren Milk Blossom: Just Brilliant
With a weekend between the Imola Grand Prix and the upcoming Portugal Grand Prix, I decided to play around with some team based cocktails – and there’s no team I’d rather start with than McLaren. As a fan, I generally favour teams that bring #goodvibesonly to the race track – a hashtag embodied by Chief Executive Zak Brown. Established mid-pack leader Daniel Riccardo is racing with McLaren in the 2021 season, and up-and-comer Lando Norris killed it in Italy last weekend, landing a P3 podium finish. Happy racers race better, and maybe its just me but I just get warm fuzzies when I hear the unique level of positivity on their team radio and frankly, everyone just looks like they’re having fun. I took this spirit into my cocktail recipe and created a deliciously creamy, fragrant, orange forward Milk Blossom cocktail with a touch of brilliant blue. Enjoy!
McLaren Milk Blossom
Equipment
- Emulsion Blender (optional)
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz. vodka
- .5 oz. peach schnapps
- .5 oz. Cointreau
- 1.5 oz. orange juice
- .5 oz. evaporated milk
- ΒΌ tsp. orange blossom water
- 1 egg white
- 3-4 drops blue curacao (garnish)
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and dry shake vigorously until egg white it frothy. TIP: Save your arm muscles and use a hand emulsion mixer to whip your cocktail in record time.
- Once the egg white is frothy, add ice to your cocktail shaker and wet shake.
- Double strain into a large coupe or petit wine glass (all I had clean) and let sit for a few moments so the egg white foam firms.
- Garnish with a few dots of blue curacao and swirl with a cocktail stick. If you don't have blue curacao, add a couple of drops of grocery-standard blue food colouring to the Cointreau.
